Rare Tanganyika Guide (2nd revised edition, 1948), soft cover, in very good condition. Foreword by Sir William Denis Battershill, K.C.M.G., who was the Governor of Tanganyika. This guide about Tanganyika (now called Tanzania) has a lovely pictorial cover with numerous b&w photographs throughout. There are two large foldout maps, in excellent condition with no tears. Many interesting period adverts and the guide provides a snapshot of a time gone by with information about the country, its people, travel by various means, sports and more. Externally, there is some tape that has been applied to the foot of the paper spine and there is some minor wear and foxing to the edges. Binding is tight. These guides are rare as many were used by travellers and did not survive. Internally pages are generally clean.
