Rare, first edition, hardcover, in very good condition. The book is in three parts. I. Their history. II. Their manners and customs. III. The means needful for their preservation and improvement. There is a map, illustrations, foldouts of genealogies and charts of populations. Externally, publisher's original blue cloth board covers with the title and author in gilt on the spine. Some bumping and minor wear to the extremities. On the spine, there is a slight tear in the cloth binding above the titling. Binding is tight. Internally, as frontis, there is an advert for the same author’s book, “History of the Colony of Natal”. Pages are clean and bright.
