Pamwe Chete is a Shona saying, which was the motto of the Selous Scouts, and means "All Together". The Selous Scouts, a special forces regiment of the Rhodesian Army, were once one of the most feared counter insurgency forces in Africa. The regiment was named after the respected British explorer Frederick Courteney Selous. "Formed in 1973 by the author, Lt.-Col. Ron Reid-Daly, as the Rhodesian Bush War intensified, the Selous Scouts Regiment very soon became one of Africa's and for that matter, the world's, foremost and ruthless proponents of pseudo operations in guerilla counter-insurgency warfare. During its short seven-year existence up to Zimbabwe's independence in 1980, this regiment was to write, with honour, its name into the annals of military history, with its brilliant modus operandi." This book is a definitive account of the Selous Scouts, a multiracial unit, who were responsible for over 68% of guerilla casualties. The book contains previously unpublished material and photos and is highly sought after by collectors of military history. Externally, original dust jacket covering grey boards with titling and author stamped in black on front and spine. Dust jacket and boards have minor shelf wear. Binding is tight. Internally, the pages are clean and bright with no foxing throughout. An excellent copy. Please see photos provided as these serve to reflect the condition in conjunction with details provided.
